CALL FOR PROPOSALS
We are pleased to solicit proposals for sessions to be held during Law, Justice and Development (LJD) Week 2017, November 6-10, at World Bank Headquarters in Washington D.C.
As Partner of the Global Forum on Law, Justice and Development you are invited to submit proposals in one or more of following categories:
“Gender, Law and Development” is the theme for the first two days of LJD Week 2017, as described in theInformation Note. We suggest a focus on the legal contribution to achieving Sustainable Development Goal # 5. In particular, please consider the following streams: (a) creating an enabling environment for women's economic empowerment; (b) reform, enforcement, strengthening institutions; (c) women’s ability to exercise their rights; and (d) fragility, conflict and violence.
“IFI Day” is the third day of LJD Week 2017. This day is devoted to sessions that will explore issues common to International Financial Institutions, with a focus on gender related matters and selected news topics.
PROPOSAL GUIDELINES
Proposals must be brief, coherent and timely.
Each proposal must be submitted separately, indicating the day for which it is being submitted, and in the case of proposals for Gender Days, the subtopic to which it relates. Please read carefully theInformation Note.
In evaluating proposals, relevance to the selected day’s theme will be key.Priority will be given to formats that will be engaging, interactive and innovative. Panel discussions are discouraged.Please be guided by the sample proposal attached.In response to feedback from prior years, there will be fewer sessions and thus more selectivity.Deadline for submission of proposalsMay 31, 2017.
